Our Projects

SEATTLE, WA – November 4, 2025 – Friends of Jamaica Seattle (FOJS), a non-profit, non-political organization dedicated to promoting Jamaican culture and heritage while advancing educational and charitable causes, today announced the launch of its "Hurricane Relief Jamaica" fundraiser drive. The event is a critical response to the recent hurricane, aiming to provide immediate emergency aid and essential supplies to the most affected communities in Jamaica.

 

The community can contribute in two primary ways:

 

1     We are urgently needed to provide immediate relief, including food, water, and emergency aid to those most affected. Donations can be made securely online at: www.givebutter.com/jamaicasupport.

2      Send Supplies: FOJS is collecting essential physical supplies at the fundraiser drive. Needed items include: toiletries, non-perishable food items, vitamins, water tablets, baby items, and clothes.

Current Projects

Our Current projects are (2015 – 2017):

  • Mount Rosser Primary School Project – Equipping their computer lab with computers
  • Backpack Project – Sending backpack full of school supplies for needy students at targeted schools in Jamaica
  • Aid and Support for Homeless Gays in Kingston

 

Our Past Projects

  • Mile Gully Primary and Basic Schools
  • Porus Basic School
  • Street Kids
  • Content Basic School
  • Tacius Golding High School

Your donation for to the organization will help FOJS to continue providing assistance to organizations and individuals in the Puget Sound region and in Jamaica.
